Stay
Tiny Percival is made for romantic getaways on Tassie’s Bruny Island. Percival is pet-friendly and perfect for two guests.
Choose your adventure! Either land on Bruny Island and pick up a hire car, or you can hop on the ferry (along with your car!) from the mainland.
The first pit-stop is the Bruny Island Cheese Co. This is your time to stock up on some delicious Tassie cheese, wine, granola, beer and condiments for your stay.
Next stop is the Get Shucked Oyster Farm – the name says it all, for this locally owned and operated farm. With each oyster lovingly harvested, you won’t be able to find any fresher! Finally, head to the Bruny Baker for a fresh sourdough loaf.
Accessible by 2-wheel drive, check in to Tiny Percival from 3pm and get cozy. Light the fire and settle in as you take in the mountain views and lake fronts.
For dinner, whip up a quick cheese board complete with your goodies from earlier. If you’re feeling like going the extra mile – we highly recommend grilling some oysters over the BBQ and serving them with a fresh salad.
You’re on holiday, so have a slow, relaxing morning in bed. Make a warm tea or coffee and watch the world go by from the many windows in the tiny home. If it’s chilly, pop on the indoor fireplace for extra warmth.
Tuck into some of your homemade sourdough and Bruny Island honey with a good book, or some music as you take in the surroundings on the purpose-built deck. Perfect for watching the world go by, or stargazing at night with a glass of red.
As the day continues, we recommend a nice, leisurely walk to take in the views. Notice how time stands still on Bruny Island? It’s magical.
In each tiny home, we have some board games in the cupboard. Unwind by the fire in the afternoon with some board games and a glass of red wine. Watch the sunset as the fire crackles in your view.
For dinner, grill some Tassie beef and roast veggies, or make a nice pasta made with some fresh Tassie seafood – either way, you’ll be impressed with the quality of produce on the island. Pop on the indoor fireplace and cozy in.
Now that you’re feeling a little more rejuvenated and relaxed, it’s time to leave your tiny home for a few hours’ exploration. Start with a hike to Grass Point – a cool 1 hour 30 minutes round trip. Accessible via a clear track with small elevations, enjoy the stunning Tassie coastline while enjoying the vast landscape and fresh air. Or hike up to Cape Bruny Lighthouse for rugged coastline views.
After your hike, it’s time for a well-deserved trip to Bruny Island Premium Wines for lunch and a wine tasting. Enjoy their variety of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay’s and share plates while you overlook the stunning landscapes around you.
Before the day ends, head to Bruny Island Berry Farm for some fresh berry picking, and Bruny Island Chocolate Co for some of their famous Rocky Road. Make another stop at The Honey Pot for some prize-winning Manuka honey, or Tasmanian Leatherwood honey.
When you arrive back at Tiny Percival, set the fire and watch the sunset over the picturesque mountains. For dessert, tuck into your Rocky Road as you stargaze on the deck.
Enjoy a slow morning, watching the sunrise or enjoying a coffee in bed admiring the landscapes out of your window.
Once ready, it’s time to make pancakes with your freshly picked Tassie berries and honey. Enjoy on the deck with one of our Wandering Folk picnic rugs and a second coffee.
After breakfast, head out to ‘The Neck’ for a beach walk that will span for miles. If you’re in luck, you’ll have the beach exclusively to yourself. Take care if you end up swimming as the water will be cold! Feeling more adventurous? We highly recommend booking a Bruny Island Day cruise with Pennicott Wilderness Journeys.
It’s the best way to see the island in all it’s beauty!
Enjoy a late lunch at The Café in Denne’s Point or Hotel Bruny Island and retreat to Tiny Percival for the rest of the afternoon and evening – indoor fireplace on of course.
On your last morning in Tiny Percival, watch the sunrise from the window as you enjoy making a breakfast platter to use up any leftovers. Go for a walk around the property and take in the mountain and lake front views one last time.
Escape to the South Bruny National Park and explore by foot. You will see penguin colonies, echidnas, wombats and possums. Fancy a quick swim? Head to Adventure Bay afterwards or take a boat trip around the island.
Make your way back to the airport in time for your flight home – what an adventure you have had in beautiful Bruny!
