Come Inside: Tiny Astrid’s New Look with Castlery
There’s something about good design that changes the way a space feels. The way the right pieces can make a tiny space feel considered, comfortable and entirely your own. That was the thinking behind our latest refresh of Tiny Astrid, created in partnership with our friends at Castlery.
September 2026
Astrid has always been about finding a balance between thoughtful Scandi design and the wild beauty just beyond the windows. Natural materials, considered details and a pared-back palette that brings the outdoors in, while the landscape does most of the talking.
Now, with a collection of new Castlery pieces inside and out, Astrid has had a little refresh adding even more comfort to the spaces where our guests come to slow down, switch off and reconnect with nature. Because when you’re surrounded by mountain views, open skies and the sounds of the Australian bush, there’s really no need to overcomplicate things.
Just good design and a comfortable place to land.
Just over two hours from Sydney, tucked into the landscape of the Blue Mountains, you’ll find Tiny Astrid, a Scandinavian-inspired tiny home made for slowing down.
Designed for two, Astrid sits among sweeping valley views, mountain landscapes and wide-open skies. Inside, high ceilings, natural materials and considered, minimalist interiors make this tiny home feel spacious, calm and quietly luxurious. There’s a private deck for long, lazy mornings, a hammock for afternoons spent doing very little and a fire pit for settling in as the sun begins to disappear. And then there’s the hot tub, perfectly positioned for an evening soak beneath the stars.
Inside, you’ll find a cosy lounge nook, fully equipped kitchen, bathroom and loft-style queen bedroom. Everything you need, nothing you don’t.
This is the kind of Blue Mountains getaway where the days have no real agenda. Coffee and a book in the morning. A slow afternoon in the hammock. Sunset drinks by the fire. Then a long soak in the hot tub as the sky darkens overhead.
For Tiny Astrid, we wanted to keep the things that already made the space feel like Astrid, the pared-back Scandinavian aesthetic, natural materials and sense of calm, while making it even more comfortable to settle into.
Castlery’s approach to modern furniture brings together considered design and everyday functionality, which is especially important in a tiny home, where every piece has a purpose.
So rather than changing the space completely, we focused on a handful of considered hero pieces, pieces that add warmth and character while still feeling at home within Astrid’s existing aesthetic.
Inside and out, the result is a space that’s more inviting and designed to make those slow moments feel even better.
At the heart of Astrid’s living space is the Madison 2 Seater Sofa in Forest.
Compact enough for a tiny home but generous enough for sinking into after a day exploring the mountains, Madison brings a beautiful sense of softness and structure to the space. Its grid-tufted detailing adds a subtle design moment without overpowering Astrid’s natural surroundings. While the compact profile makes it a clever choice for smaller spaces.
It’s also exactly the kind of sofa Astrid calls for. Somewhere to curl up with a book, sip a morning coffee or settle in for a slow evening after the sun goes down.
Step outside and you’ll find another of the stars of the makeover, the Rio Outdoor Lounge Chairs.
The deck is one of our favourite places at Tiny Astrid, so creating an outdoor space that felt just as considered as the interior was important.
The Rio chairs bring a contemporary silhouette to the deck while giving guests the perfect spot to sit back and take in the stunning surrounding views of the Blue Mountains.
Made with durable solid teak, Rio is designed for outdoor living, with water-repellent Olefin cushions that are made to handle the occasional spill or change in weather.
The outdoor dining area has also been given a refresh with the Eden Outdoor collection.
The Eden pieces bring warmth through soft, curved detailing, creating an outdoor setting that feels beautifully connected to the bushland around Astrid. Eden is designed for life outdoors, with treated mahogany intended to withstand sun, rain and insects, alongside water-repellent cushions for easy outdoor living.
But beyond the practical details, we love how the Eden furniture looks at Astrid. The natural timber feels at home amongst the surrounding bushland, with the overall look complementing the tiny home interiors.
The Eden is the perfect setting for lingering by the fire, just that little bit longer..
Of course, an escape isn’t complete without a really good night’s sleep.
Astrid’s loft bedroom has been upgraded with the Ayrie Mattress, bringing Castlery’s approach to comfort into one of the most important parts of the stay.
The Ayrie range is designed around breathable comfort and layered support, with TENCEL™ Lyocell, gel memory foam and pocket springs. The mattress is also designed to reduce motion transfer, which is incredibly handy when you’re sharing a tiny loft with someone you love.
After a day of bushwalking, exploring or simply enjoying your escape, the best place to end the day is in a comfortable bed. And the best kind of morning is one where you wake up feeling refreshed.
While the hero furniture pieces are what you’ll notice first, the makeover is really about creating a complete experience.
We’ve also introduced the Luna Small Wall Mirror, alongside the Flute All-Purpose Wine Glasses, James 16-Piece Cutlery Set and Landon 4-Piece Dinnerware Set in Matcha, which adds a subtle pop of earthy green to the table.
It’s these finer details which bring the whole makeover together.
Tiny Astrid sleeps two, making it the perfect setting for a romantic Blue Mountains escape, a quiet weekend away or a solo reset.
Spend the day exploring the surrounding Blue Mountains, wandering through nearby towns and stopping at lookouts along the way. Or don’t go anywhere at all. There’s something to be said for staying put when the view is this good!
And then there’s the outdoor woodfire hot tub. Set against the mountain landscape, sink in and enjoy the stunning valley views, especially as the sun slips behind the hills and the sky slowly fills with stars.
That’s the beauty of a tiny home escape. There’s no packed itinerary, nowhere you need to be and very little you need to do.
We’ve loved bringing this new chapter of Tiny Astrid to life with Castlery – creating a space that feels even more inviting to slow down, settle in and reconnect with nature.
Now, we’d love for you to experience it for yourself.
Come for the mountain views, stay for the slow mornings, sunset fires and hot tub evenings. Your next Blue Mountains escape awaits.
