REWILD
Earth Day: Treading Lightly on this Earth.
In light of Earth Day this year, we wanted to talk about our sustainability practices, use of materials and the impact on which we aim to tread lightly on our beautiful earth. So, let’s delve into the initiatives we have in place.
April 2025
A Tourism Model That Gives Back
Since 2017, our off-grid tiny homes have hosted over 80,000 guests across 40,000+ nights — creating not just unforgettable stays, but real-world impact. We’ve helped save 13 tonnes of CO₂, conserved 9 million litres of water, and contributed $34.8 million in rural spend.
By designing our homes to be energy-efficient and aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, we’re proving that conscious travel can deliver both environmental and economic value. As we grow, so does our commitment to protecting the planet and supporting the communities we call home.

Yes, our tiny homes are designed with low-footprint design at the forefront, with a focus on minimising environmental impact, always. By keeping the footprint minimal, we reduce the amount of land required and therefore preserve more natural habitats.
Since 2017, our off-grid tiny homes have hosted over 80,000 guests and 40,000 nights, creating not only memorable guest experiences, but measurable returns for people, planet, and place.
Each tiny home is low-touch, so within weeks of relocating a property it is as if we were never there.
We meticulously design our tiny homes to conserve as much energy as possible while still delivering the premium experience we’re known for. This means continuously adapting to the latest technology and refining our designs to ensure alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our approach supports climate action, personal well-being, and eco-friendly communities.
Our inventory has been chosen specifically and sits proudly in each and every one of our tiny homes. Each item is sustainable and often biodegradable.
We utilise renewable energy sources always reducing our reliance on fossil fuels. We use solar power air conditioning and heating, rainwater capture, composting toilets in each tiny home and wastewater solutions. Most of our tiny homes are remotely monitored with smart solar and battery systems that power everything from the lights to the air-conditioning and heating.
At Into The Wild Escapes, we pride ourselves on doing more with less.
We are continually measuring and minimising our environmental impact through metrics like water usage, energy consumption, waste generation and carbon emissions. Our strategies include using eco-friendly materials where possible, leveraging renewable energy technologies like solar power, implementing waste reduction programs, and employing a specially designed wastewater management plan.
We are deeply committed to leading by example, demonstrating that luxury and environmental responsibility can (and do!) go hand in hand.
There is a growing inclination among individuals to embrace more environmentally friendly lifestyles and ways in which they can go away, yet still feel they are reducing their ecological impact. The shift towards eco-consciousness and minimalist getaways.
We think people also appreciate the therapeutic benefits offered by natural surroundings.
In summary, Into The Wild Escapes is deeply committed to minimising our impact while highlighting our connection with nature and wellness. We’re proud to provide our guests with an unforgettable experience in rural Australia that also leaves a positive impact on the planet.
We’re incredibly proud of the positive impact we’re making on the environment and in regional communities – both core to our values.
These aren’t just feel-good numbers. They represent a scalable, sustainable tourism model that delivers both growth and meaningful impact.
