Say hello to Tiny Billy: A Family-Built Tiny Home Overlooking the Iconic Zig Zag Railway
October 2025
Into The Wild Escapes is answering the call of its growing family and group market with the launch of its newest family-build tiny home, Tiny Billy. Set within the historic Zig Zag Railway land in the heart of the Blue Mountains, Tiny Billy is more than just a place to stay – it’s a chance to immerse in heritage, wildlife, nature and the kind of togetherness travellers are craving.
This milestone marks seven family-builds across the collection, bringing the Into The Wild Escapes total fleet to 60 tiny homes nationwide, with two more launching in the coming weeks. It’s a clear sign that the brand is not only listening to guest demand but shaping the way families and groups experience Australia’s wild places.
“Guests have told us they want more ways to experience the wild together, and we’ve delivered,” said Celeste Giannas, Founder of Into The Wild Escapes. “Tiny Billy is designed with families and groups in mind, combining the magic of the Blue Mountains with the wonder of one of Australia’s most historic railways – It’s about creating memories that last”.
Nestled in serene bushland, Tiny Billy sleeps up to six guests with a double-bed loft, a queen bed by the window and two single-bunk beds. Comfort meets sustainability through curated details including ST. ALi coffee, Leif botanical body care, Wandering Folk picnic rugs, and Koala Eco cleaning products.
Here, nature is not just a backdrop – it’s the experience. Guests can step outside to enjoy native Australian wildlife at their doorstep, from birdsong at sunrise, to wallabies grazing at dusk. After a day of exploring, they can unwind in a wood-fire hot tub under the stars, savour the views from the deck, or watch the Zig Zag Railway steam locomotive roll past – close enough to inspire awe, yet private enough to feel worlds away.
At Into The Wild Escapes, it’s about creating whole experiences, not just getaways. That’s why the brand loves to partner with iconic landholders and organisations who share a vision of connecting people with nature.
A few months ago, Into The Wild Escapes partnered with the Hills Wildlife Sanctuary, adding two family tiny homes where guests can choose to join a behind-the-scenes wildlife tour. Now, with the Zig Zag Railway partnership, guests staying at Tiny Billy can add on a steam train adventure – bringing history, heritage and excitement right alongside their escape.
These partnerships are designed with young families in mind, delivering opportunities to explore, learn and create lifelong memories. Whether it’s spotting kangaroos, feeding rescued animals, or hearing the whistle of a steam train echo through the mountains – the experiences go far beyond accommodation.
With families and groups making up a rising share of both domestic and international travellers, Into The Wild Escapes is strategically expanding to meet this demand. The launch of Tiny Billy strengthens the brand’s appeal in the international market, offering a premium, nature-immersed alternative to traditional accommodation.
Whether it’s an adventure-filled weekend, a chance to soak in history, or simply time spent reconnecting in nature surrounded by wildlife, Tiny Billy offers a truly unique escape in the Blue Mountains.
