REWILD
Plan your Think Week in nature.
2024 is the year of the ‘Think Week’.
Just as Bill Gates has done since the 80s, we’re encouraging you to take time in nature to really disconnect. Such weeks allow space for you to read, relax and reflect and of course, we can’t forget the profound impact nature has on your physical and mental health.
December 2023
As nature lovers, we understand the importance of scheduling in your own “Think Week”. It offers a chance for you to live life without the pressures of social media, constant calendar alerts and mounting deadlines and instead reflect on your own personal goals and challenges you’ve experienced.
In this blog piece, we delve into why a “Think Week” is so important (and productive!) and why it should be at the top of your to-do list for 2024.
In the day-to-day chaos of our lives, we can often find ourselves distracted between work, family and everything else in between. We live in a world where technology is designed to constantly pull for our attention, which often leads to mental fatigue, feelings of overwhelm and serious burn out.
A “Think Week” is a dedicated period of time, where an individual isolates themselves from their regular environment and routine to focus solely on reflecting, thinking and strategizing for the weeks, or months ahead which in turn could cultivate your next big idea.
The thought of a Think Week can seem quite overwhelming – the idea of dedicating so much time to reflection and contemplation however, when you unwind in nature, the benefits truly speak for themselves.
It’s scientifically proven that an environment free from mental clutter allows you to gain clarity and focus to retain more information and be inspired by new ideas. A secluded week allows us to enjoy uninterrupted reflection, free of co-workers, meetings and distractions so you can truly reflect on your values, goals and long-term plans.
During your Think Week take time to regulate your circadian rhythm for a deeper sleep and better overall health and soak up sunlight during the day to achieve optimum Vitamin D wellness.
An environment that is isolated from life’s daily pressures cultivates a cognitive atmosphere to think creatively, innovatively and deliver solutions.
If you’ve got a deadline looming, or you’re just struggling to put pen to paper, some time in nature can help to facilitate strategic planning as well as re-access priorities. By having a specific start date and end date of your think week, you will also find that you are able to accomplish more now that your priorities are set in a timebound period.
Time in nature also contributes to personal growth and a connection to nature by providing time for you to get comfortable with being isolated in the wild by yourself. Often, a solitary experience leads to self-discovery and a sense of accomplishment.
Our tiny homes offer the perfect setting for a Think Week, as they sit in seclusion, enveloped by nature and include everything you need to completely switch off. We suggest packing inspirational books, slide decks, blank notebooks and an abundance of pens and to keep your phone switched off, which will encourage ideas to flow.
Pack ingredients that will allow you to prepare and cook healthy, nutritious meals. It’s important for you to feel energised and will eat foods that will fuel your body and mind.
We also encourage you to embrace the nature around you. Immerse yourself in the fresh air, take leisurely walks, light a campfire, listen to birdsong and stargaze.
Haven't had enough?
