Stay
Located 25 minutes from Toowoomba Town, Tiny Kya is a fairytale escape that is rich in whimsy and adventure. This tiny sleeps up to four with a queen bed in the window and a double bed in the loft.
Our tiny’s include everything you need (think: all the homely essentials you love!) and nothing you don’t. Tiny Kya is also pet-friendly, so your furry friends can venture into the wild with you.
As you enter Toowoomba town Centre there is a stop that is a must! All good adventures involve coffee and pastries, and this sweet bakery won’t disappoint.
The Bakers Duck are passionate bakers of artisan pastries and sourdough and have a pastry to suit everyone. Our recommendation? Stop here for a coffee + croissant before you venture into the wild. And be sure to stock up on a few extra pastries and a sourdough loaf!
While you’re in town, we recommend to also stock up on other groceries at one of the many supermarkets in town. Don’t forget the cheeseboard essentials!
Accessible by 2-wheel drive, check in to Tiny Kya from 3pm and get cozy. Light the fire and settle in as you take in the abundance of native wildlife and flora.
For dinner, whip up a quick cheese board or make a delicious pasta with some grilled sourdough over the BBQ.
Settle into your new morning routine for the next few days – life in the wild is serene and slow paced, just how we like it.
Our tiny’s have everything you need for a comfortable stay. Settle in and make a delicious breakfast to enjoy on the patio. Weather dependent, treat yourself to a relaxing cold or warm bath. We highly recommend a good book or a glass of wine while you take in the stunning surroundings.
In each tiny, we provide some board games for your leisure. Enjoy taking out without social notifications – it’s so lovely to switch off in nature! As the evening rolls in, admire the sunset (they are so beautiful in Queensland!) and light the fire.
Cook a pizza over the BBQ grill and stargaze.
Now that you’re feeling more ‘you’ after a few nights in nature, it’s time to leave your tiny home for a little while to explore.
Head into Toowoomba Town (25-minutes from the tiny) to explore. Choose from Queens Park, or Laurel Bank Park and walk around the lush greenery and admire the lovely Australian flora. This city was once known and is still loved for its expansive florals. While you’re in town, grab a coffee and head to First Coat Outdoor Gallery which gives Melbourne’s Hozier Lane a run for its money. Some of the most loved and admired art in the city can be found here. Think: 80 large scale murals dotted throughout the city!
After an arty afternoon, stop by the local grocers, or The Bakers Duck (for some more pastries!) before heading home to Tiny Kya. Run a bath and settle in as the sun sets – light a fire or roast some marshmallows and tuck into dinner.
Nestled among thick tree cover, you’ll feel super secluded from the world as you take everything in.
All good mornings start with coffee and thankfully you’re in luck as all of our tiny’s include St Ali coffee. Once caffeinated, it’s time to venture out of your tiny!
If you are visiting over a weekend, head into town to visit the Toowoomba Farmers Market. Delight in local produce, fresh homegrown vegetables and fruit and find a gem with the array of artisan products and stalls. Stock up on a few more local supplies, especially if you’re running low on stock in the tiny. Grab some lunch at the markets and enjoy chatting to the locals.
After lunch, head to Tabletop Mountain for a 2km return hike. The mountain is a short drive out of town and with 360-degree spanning views of Toowoomba and beyond, you’ll be amazed at the vast landscapes below. Extra points if you can spot the Lockyer Valley, Toowoomba and Henry Heights.
If you aren’t up for a full hike, drive to Picnic Point and enjoy the views without a 45-minute hike. Either way. you’ll be able to enjoy Toowoomba from new heights!
Retreat back to the tiny and unwind on one of our Wandering Folk picnic rugs, admiring the landscapes as the sun goes down. Pop some relaxing music on or enjoy another bath overlooking the wild surroundings as you end the day.
On your last morning in Tiny Kya, watch the sunrise from the window. Go for a walk around the property, visit the horses and take in the views one last time.
Make your way back home after a beautiful time away in your tiny. You should be feeling the healing benefits of nature in full swing.
